Video sharing site, Youtube will start selling music and video games and try a different ad formats. They do this to get other source of income.
Later, visitors can buy Youtube songs from the music video that they watch it on the site by clicking the button that will bring them into the store Amazon.com or the Apple iTunes, therefore cited from Reuters, Thursday (9/10/2008) .
In addition, visitors can also buy Youtube video games like Spore game through the Amazon link. iTunes and Amazon will share the revenue with the Youtube users to buy content through the video sharing site owned by Google it.
During this Youtube still rely on ad sector as the main source of income. However, they also continue to experiment with different ad formats to maximize revenue. One is to display ads at the bottom of the video played, and various contests sponsored by advertisers.
