The world’s largest software producer, Microsoft announce to preparing a bid to buy a smartphone BlackBerry manufacturer, Research in Motion (RIMs).
Quoted from PCPro, Saturday (11/10/2008), the value of shares RIMs indeed continue to decline in recent months. Financial condition RIMs also reportedly threatened by the economic crisis that currently runs the world.
Things that make analysts think that the likelihood of future RIMs bough by a larger company like Microsoft. The current, RIMs is estimated to be worth U.S. $ 34 billion.
According to the analyst from Canaccord Adams institutions, Peter Misek, the acquisition is a strategic step RIMs and the match made by a company owned by Bill Gates.
The acquisition adds fuel RIMs’ weapon ‘Microsoft significantly in the mobile business. Competition in this field is more fierce because the operating system Microsoft Windows Mobile continues threatened by competitors such as Apple iPhone and Google Android.
