Google Fired 100 People

Google’s officially fired 100 people servants. This was announced officially by the company after the rumor was circulating in November 2008.
Firing was conducted on the “Recruiter” devision a.k.a the people who had the task of searching for new employees. This indicates Google will only make far less recruitment of new employees in the near future.
Laszlo Bock, Vice President for People Operations at Google said the company will still be doing recruitment in 2009. “Google is still looking for new employees, but with a low rate. With economic conditions at this time, we realize that we need fewer people, focusing on recruitment,” he said at the official Google blog, Thursday (15/1/2009) .
Google fired almost a quarter of staff recruitment on this giant company. Google itself has 20,000 employees spread around the world.
Quoted from NYTimes, Thursday (15/1/2009), when asked if there will be a cessation to the future, Google spokesman, Matt Furman said that they do not have any plans.
Some projects that are less in demand is planned to be discontinued by Google, including the Catalog Search, Internet, Jaiku and dodgeball. In fact, the giant took this helter-skelter as the global crisis.
